The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1110-3EF36-0CA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current, built around a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. It's configured for line protection — the standard role for a main or feeder breaker in a distribution panel — and ships with an integrated undervoltage release (UVR) for coordinated shutdown on loss of control voltage.
Interrupting capacity and selectivity
Interrupting capacity varies sharply with system voltage: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 10.5 kA at 690 V. That 52.5 kA at 415 V is the figure most relevant for a 400 V three-phase panel — it gives solid headroom above typical 25–36 kA service-entrance requirements, so selectivity with downstream 10 kA MCBs is straightforward to coordinate. At 690 V the 10.5 kA rating still covers most industrial motor-control-center fault levels.
Thermal derating and operating range
The 100 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C — no derating needed in a standard 40 °C panel environment. Above that it steps down: 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, 90 A at 70 °C. If the breaker lives in a high-ambient enclosure (sunlit roof, next to a furnace line), that 90 A floor at 70 °C is the number to size against. Operating range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage from -40 °C to +80 °C.
