Interrupting capacity by voltage level
The 3VA1110-3GE42-0AA0: Breaking capacity drops as voltage rises: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That 11.9 kA floor at 690 V tells you this breaker handles industrial 690 V distribution without cascading upstream — it's not just a 480 V part.
Thermal derating and panel fit
Full 100 A rating holds through 50 °C ambient; above that it derates to 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. If your panel runs hot, that 91 A ceiling at 70 °C is the number to design to, not the nameplate 100 A. Footprint is 70 mm deep, 101.6 mm wide, 130 mm tall — standard DIN-rail mount, IP40 on the front only.
