What this MCCB is and what it carries
The Siemens 3VA1110-4ED46-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker from the SENTRON family, designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release — that's a fixed thermal trip combined with a magnetic short-circuit trip, factory-set for the 100 A frame. The interrupting capacity hits 121 kA at 240 V AC, dropping to 75.6 kA at 415 V and 52.5 kA at 440 V, which gives you selectivity headroom for high-fault service entrances or industrial switchboards.
Rated current and thermal derating
Rated 100 A continuous at 40 °C ambient, and it holds that rating through 50 °C without derating. Above that, the curve steps down: 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs hot — say near a transformer or in a non-climate-controlled enclosure — the 70 °C derate to 91 A is the figure to use for the BOM line.
Physical fit and panel integration
Front dimensions are 101.6 mm wide by 130 mm tall, with a 70 mm depth behind the panel. That 4-inch width is standard for a 4-pole MCCB — it occupies the same footprint as the 3VA1110-5ED36-0AA0 sibling, so a panel kitted for that alternate will accept this breaker without drilling new mounting holes or reworking the bus bars. IP40 on the front face keeps dust out of the mechanism in a clean indoor panel; no washdown rating here.
