What this breaker is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1110-4EE32-0AA0-ZD00 is a 3VA1 IEC frame 160 molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current, with a 36 kA interrupting capacity at 415 V AC (breaking capacity class S). That 36 kA rating means it can safely clear a fault current up to that level without welding its contacts or rupturing the case — critical for downstream equipment protection and panel integrity in a high-fault installation. It's a 3-pole unit with a TM220 thermal-magnetic trip unit (ATFM), adjustable overload protection (Ir) from 70 A to 100 A, and a fixed short-circuit protection (Ii) at 10 times the rated current (In). The 10x In setting gives you a magnetic trip at roughly 1000 A, which is typical for general-purpose motor and feeder protection in IEC distribution boards. This variant also includes a nut keeper kit, specified for a DC Power OEM application in China — so the hardware package is already matched for that customer's panel-build standard.
Where it fits in the panel
The 3VA1 frame 160 mounts on a DIN rail or can be screw-fixed to a backplate. At 100 A, you'll want to watch the heat dissipation in a tightly packed enclosure — the TM220 trip's thermal element responds to ambient temperature, so derate if the panel runs hot. Keep at least 25 mm clearance above and below for arc gases to vent.
