MCCB for line protection — 100 A frame, high interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1110-4EF32-0HC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for continuous current of 100 A at 40 °C, with no derating needed up to 50 °C — it holds 100 A through that range, then steps down to 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. The interrupting capacity reaches 121 kA at 240 VAC, 75.6 kA at 415 VAC, 52.5 kA at 440 VAC, and 11.9 kA at both 500 VAC and 690 VAC — numbers that govern selectivity coordination in high-fault panels. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V. The breaker is designed for line protection (cable/feeder protection), not motor or generator duty, and ships with a shunt trip release (STL) plus two HQ auxiliary switches built in.
Integration — panel footprint and auxiliary wiring
The breaker occupies 76.2 mm width (3 in), 130 mm height (5.12 in), and 70 mm depth (2.76 in) — a standard SENTRON 3VA frame size that fits existing DIN-rail or panel-mount cutouts for this series. The shunt trip release (STL) and two auxiliary switches (HQ) are pre-installed, so no field-add kit is needed for remote trip or status feedback. Maximum power loss is 25 W, which factors into enclosure thermal calculations. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to +80 °C.
Configuration — base switch variant and release options
The supplied basic switch is order code 3VA11104EF320AA0. This variant includes a shunt trip (STL) undervoltage release is not present (no undervoltage release, no ground-fault monitoring, no communication function, no trip indicator). The design is line protection — not suited for motor circuit protection without additional overload relay. The two auxiliary switches (HQ) provide status signaling for the open/closed position.
