What this MCCB carries — and what it protects
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1110-4EF36-0AD0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 100 A at 40 °C, with a TM240 thermal-magnetic release designed for line protection. Its interrupting rating hits 121 kA at 240 V AC — that is the fault current it can safely clear without welding contacts or venting arc gas into the panel. At 415 V it still interrupts 75.6 kA, and at 690 V it holds 11.9 kA. The rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so the internal clearances are sized for 480 V and 600 V class distribution panels without derating the basic impulse level. This is not a motor-protective breaker — the TM240 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic curve for feeder and distribution protection. It carries 100 A continuously up to 50 °C, then derates to 91 A at 70 °C. The 25 W maximum power loss at rated current matters for enclosed panel heat budgets; if you are packing multiple breakers into a small enclosure, that figure drives the ventilation calculation.
Panel fit and mounting
The 3VA1110-4EF36-0AD0 measures 76.2 mm wide by 130 mm tall by 70 mm deep — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits SENTRON distribution boards and most DIN-rail-mount enclosures with the appropriate adapter. The 70 mm depth keeps it clear of gland plates and backpanel wiring troughs in 200 mm deep enclosures. Three auxiliary switches (HQ design) can be stacked on the side without increasing the width beyond the 76.2 mm frame.
