The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1110-4EF36-0JA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current (Iu) with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release, configured for line protection. It carries a breaking capacity of 121 kA at 240 V, 75.6 kA at 415 V, and 52.5 kA at 440 V — figures that govern its fault-interruption capability in distribution panels and motor control centers. The 100 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C, so the panel ambient temperature directly sets the usable continuous current. A shunt trip (STL) auxiliary release is integrated; no undervoltage release, no auxiliary contacts, no communication module, and no ground-fault monitoring are fitted on this variant.
Sizing and thermal derating
The 100 A rating is valid up to 50 °C ambient; above that, the TM240 release requires derating per the published curve. At 70 °C the breaker is good for 90 A, so a panel pulling a full 100 A must stay below 50 °C or the breaker will nuisance-trip on thermal overload. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) covers 480 V and 600 V class systems with headroom.
Physical fit and panel integration
The breaker measures 70 mm deep by 76.2 mm wide by 130 mm high — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits most DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures without re-drilling. The front face carries an IP40 protection rating, suitable for dry indoor switchgear. The shunt trip release (3VA9688-0BL32) is integrated; no auxiliary contact block is present, so any status feedback to a PLC requires an external auxiliary switch added to the breaker.
