What the 55 kA breaking capacity means for your panel
The 3VA1110-5ED32-0JC0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 160 circuit breaker with a 55 kA interrupting capacity at 415 V AC — class M in the 3VA1 line. The TM210 thermal-magnetic trip unit gives fixed overload protection at Ir=100 A and fixed short-circuit protection at Ii=10 x In (1000 A), so the breaker is sized for a 100 A continuous load with a 10x magnetic pickup for motor-start or transformer inrush.
Integrated accessories: shunt trip and auxiliary switches
Factory-fitted with a shunt trip (STL) rated 110-127 V DC and AC 50/60 Hz, plus two HQ auxiliary switches. The shunt trip lets a remote emergency-stop or PLC-based trip signal open the breaker without an operator at the handle — common in safety circuits or remote-disconnect panels. The two HQ aux switches provide independent NO/NC status feedback to a DCS, PLC, or status lamp. Because these are factory-installed, you avoid field-wiring an accessory kit into the breaker's internal mechanism.
