Rated current and thermal derating
The Siemens 3VA1110-5EF32-0CC0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous at 40 °C ambient. That full rating holds up to 50 °C; above that, the thermal curve begins to pull back — 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs hot, size the breaker for the derated figure, not the nameplate 100 A.
Breaking capacity across voltages
This 3-pole MCCB delivers 187 kA breaking capacity at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. The 187 kA figure at 240 V covers high-fault industrial panels fed from large transformers; the 17 kA at 690 V is the floor to check against your system's prospective short-circuit current.
Integrated undervoltage release and auxiliary switches
Factory-fitted with an undervoltage release (UVR) and two HQ auxiliary switches. The UVR trips the breaker when control voltage drops below a threshold — standard for safety circuits that need to drop a feeder on loss of control power. The auxiliary switches provide status feedback to a PLC or annunciator panel. No communication function on this variant; it's a hard-wired protection device.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions are 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. The 76.2 mm width is a standard 3-module footprint for DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V. Maximum power loss is 27.5 W — account for that heat in a sealed enclosure's thermal budget.
