Rated continuous current and breaking capacity
The Siemens 3VA1110-5EF36-0DA0 is a 3-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection with a continuous current Iu of 100 A. Its breaking capacity reaches 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 690 V — figures that govern its ability to safely interrupt fault currents without upstream damage. The TM240 overcurrent release provides thermal-magnetic protection; the undervoltage release (UVR) trips the breaker when supply voltage drops below a set threshold, a standard requirement for motor circuits and safety disconnects.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
The breaker carries its full 100 A rating from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient. Above that, derating applies: 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C. Operating ambient range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. For a panel builder, this means the breaker can be installed in a warm enclosure without forced cooling as long as the load current stays within the derated curve — no need to oversize the frame for a 90 A load at 70 °C ambient.
Dimensions and panel fit
The 3VA1110-5EF36-0DA0 measures 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm high. Front IP40 protection keeps dust and tools out of the mechanism. The 3-pole footprint matches the standard SENTRON 3VA mounting pattern — it drops into a panel cutout or DIN-rail adapter without modification. The absence of an auxiliary contact version means no add-on signaling block is pre-installed; if remote status is needed, the integrated auxiliary trip port (order code 3VA9608-0BB25) accepts a field-installed module.
