Thermal derating and operating envelope
The 3VA1110-5EF36-0JH0: This breaker carries its full 100 A rating from 40 °C up through 50 °C. At 55 °C it derates to 98 A, at 60 °C to 96 A, at 65 °C to 94 A, and at 70 °C to 91 A. The maximum operating temperature is 70 °C, minimum -25 °C. Storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C. For a panel builder: if your enclosure ambient hits 55 °C, you need to account for that 2 A reduction per pole when sizing the breaker for the load.
Auxiliary functions and release options
This variant includes a shunt trip release (STL) for remote tripping, plus 2 auxiliary switches and 1 trip alarm switch (HQ configuration). The trip indicator is present. It does not include an undervoltage release or ground-fault monitoring. The power loss at rated current is 25 W maximum. For a controls integrator: the shunt trip lets a PLC or safety relay cut power remotely, while the auxiliary switches provide status feedback to the control system.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions: 130 mm height, 76.2 mm width, 70 mm depth. This is a standard SENTRON 3VA1 frame size — it mounts on a DIN rail or can be screw-mounted to a backplate. The 76.2 mm width (3 inches) is a 3-pole footprint; if you are replacing an existing MCCB in a panel, verify the mounting hole pattern and bus bar spacing match. The depth of 70 mm (2.76 in) is shallow enough for most 200 mm deep enclosures.
