What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1110-5MH32-0AD0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 160 molded-case circuit breaker from the 3VA1 series, rated at 100 A with a breaking capacity of 55 kA at 415 V (class M). It comes with a TM120M thermal-magnetic release set for starter protection — meaning the thermal element is sized to track motor heating, and the magnetic trip (Ii) is adjustable from 5 to 15 times the rated current, so you dial in the short-circuit pickup to match the motor's inrush without nuisance trips.
What the ratings mean on the line
55 kA Icu at 415 V puts this in the 'M' (medium) breaking capacity class — enough to handle most industrial distribution faults without cascading upstream. The TM120M release gives you motor protection: the thermal element handles overloads up to 100 A, and the adjustable magnetic element lets you set Ii between 500 A and 1500 A (5–15 x In) so a 100 A motor's locked-rotor current won't pop the breaker on start. No overload relay is built in — this is short-circuit + backup thermal only; the motor's primary overload protection comes from a separate relay or contactor. The nut keeper kit and three auxiliary switches (HQ) ship with the breaker, ready for panel wiring.
