Panel fit and integration
The 3VA1110-5MH36-0CC0 measures 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm high — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that fits most DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures. The 76.2 mm width (3 inches) matches the typical 3-pole MCCB slot in a Siemens SENTRON distribution panel. Depth at 70 mm means it clears most shallow enclosures, but verify the door clearance for the handle mechanism. It includes an undervoltage release (UVR) and two auxiliary switches HQ, so factor those into wiring — the UVR needs a control voltage to keep the breaker closed, and the aux switches provide status feedback to a PLC or annunciator.
Thermal derating and power loss
The breaker is rated 100 A at 40 °C, 45 °C, and 50 °C — no derating needed up to 50 °C. Above that, it drops to 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. If your panel ambient runs hot (say, inside a non-ventilated enclosure near a motor), size the breaker to the derated value, not the 100 A nameplate. Maximum power loss is 27.5 W — that's the heat it dumps into the enclosure at full load, so factor it into your thermal budget. Storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C; operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C.
