Breaking capacity and what it means for your fault-current study
The 3VA1110-6ED36-0AA0: This MCCB carries a 220 kA interrupting rating at 240 VAC, dropping to 154 kA at 415 VAC, 121 kA at 440 VAC, and 17 kA at both 500 VAC and 690 VAC. At 690 V, the 17 kA rating is the limiting figure; if your system's prospective short-circuit current exceeds that, you need a current-limiting upstream breaker or a higher-rated frame.
Thermal derating — don't size at the nameplate alone
Rated 100 A at 40 °C, the breaker holds that current up to 50 °C, then begins a gradual derating curve: 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. The TM210 release's thermal element responds to the actual current through the breaker, so an undersized conductor or an overestimated continuous load at elevated temperature can cause nuisance tripping.
At 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm tall, this 3-pole MCCB fits standard SENTRON mounting footprints. The front face carries an IP40 protection class — suitable for general-purpose panel mounting where no washdown or dust ingress is expected.
