That keeps the part simple and reliable for line-protection duty where adjustable long-time, short-time, or ground-fault curves aren't required. The 3-pole construction covers three-phase loads up to 100 A. Current rating holds flat at 100 A from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient (–), then derates to 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C (–). For a panel running at 55 °C ambient, you lose 4 A of headroom — factor that into the load calculation if the breaker is near its limit.
Comes with 2 auxiliary switches HP factory-installed — no need to order and fit them separately.
For selectivity (discrimination) studies, the TM240 release's fixed magnetic pickup is around 10× In (1000 A typical for thermal-magnetic), so upstream devices need a short-time delay or higher instantaneous threshold to avoid nuisance tripping on motor-start inrush. Siemens publishes selectivity tables for the 3VA range — use those for coordination studies rather than relying on rule-of-thumb.
