MCCB for high-fault panel builds
The Siemens 3VA1110-6EF32-0BA0 is a SENTRON 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 100 A at 40 °C, with a 220 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V AC — that SCCR handles high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream. The TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit gives fixed thermal and magnetic settings, so it's a straight swap-in for a panel that already has the coordination study done. No communication module onboard — this is a standalone breaker, not a metering or remote-trip device.
At 415 V the interrupting rating drops to 154 kA, at 440 V to 121 kA, and at 500 V / 690 V it holds at 17 kA. That steep roll-off above 480 V means the breaker is optimized for 240 V and 400/415 V distribution — at 690 V it still clears 17 kA, but the high-fault advantage is at the lower voltages.
Full 100 A rating holds through 50 °C ambient; above that it derates to 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. In a sealed enclosure or high-ambient panel, factor that curve into the coordination study — the breaker doesn't lose much, but the trip unit responds to its own internal temperature. Dimensions are 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep — fits a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint on DIN rail or panel-mount.
