What the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1110-6EF32-0KH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current (Iu) with a TM240 thermal-magnetic release. The 220 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V means it can safely clear a fault of that magnitude without upstream damage — critical for high-fault service entrances or transformer secondaries. At 415 V it still holds 154 kA, and at 690 V it drops to 17 kA, so the voltage-dependent SCCR governs where it can be placed in a 690 V system. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) covers most industrial distribution panels. The thermal derating curve is flat from 40 °C to 50 °C at 100 A, then steps down to 96 A at 55 °C, 94 A at 60 °C, 92 A at 65 °C, and 90 A at 70 °C. In a crowded panel with ambient above 50 °C, the breaker must be loaded below 100 A — plan the branch circuit accordingly. The IP40 front protection means it's fine for a dry indoor panel but not for washdown or outdoor exposure.
Panel integration and wiring
The breaker measures 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm high — a compact 3-pole footprint that fits standard DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures. It ships with 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ type) for remote status indication. The shunt trip (STL) release is built in; there is no undervoltage release, no communication module, and no ground-fault monitoring on this variant. The auxiliary trip accessory is order code 3VA9688-0BL33.
