What this MCCB carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1110-6EF36-0KC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection at 100 A continuous current (Iu). The TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release handles overloads and short-circuits; the shunt trip (STL) allows remote tripping via a separate control signal. Two HQ auxiliary switches provide status feedback to a PLC or indicator lamp. Breaking capacity is the headline number here: 220 kA at 240 V, 154 kA at 415 V, 121 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 690 V. That 220 kA at 240 V means this MCCB can safely interrupt a fault current up to 220,000 A without welding contacts or venting plasma — critical for large transformer secondaries or high-capacity busway feeds where available fault current is extreme. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, so it's suited for 690 V line-to-line systems (typical IEC industrial networks). The front face carries IP40 protection — fine for a dry indoor panel, not for washdown zones.
Thermal derating and panel fit
The 100 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C ambient — no derating needed in a typical enclosed panel. At 55 °C it drops to 96 A, at 60 °C to 94 A, and at 70 °C to 90 A. If the breaker sits near a drive or transformer inside a sealed cabinet, that 90 A at 70 °C is the actual limit; size the upstream conductor accordingly. Dimensions are 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep.
