SENTRON 3VA1110-6FE46-0AA0 — 100 A MCCB for line protection
The Siemens 3VA1110-6FE46-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 100 A continuous current at 45 °C and 50 °C, with a 4-pole configuration and a TM220 thermal-magnetic release. Its interrupting capacity is 220 kA at 240 V, 154 kA at 415 V, and 121 kA at 440 V — high enough for most main service-entrance and large-feeder applications where fault currents are severe. At 690 V the rating drops to 17 kA, so verify the available fault current at the installation point when used on higher-voltage systems.
Thermal derating and duty
The breaker carries 100 A up to 50 °C ambient, then derates linearly: 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. That thermal curve means the 3VA1110-6FE46-0AA0 can be installed in a warm enclosure without losing much headroom — the 70 °C rating is still 91 A, not a forced full derate. The TM220 release has an adjustable long-time pickup (Ir) up to 1000 A, and the N-conductor protection is set at 50% of the phase current.
Panel fit and integration
The MCCB measures 101.6 mm wide by 130 mm tall by 70 mm deep — a standard 4-pole footprint for the SENTRON 3VA platform, so it fits existing 3VA mounting bases and busbar connections. Front face is IP40 rated, suitable for enclosed panel mounting where tools are required to access the terminals. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and maximum DC operational voltage is 600 V, so it can serve DC distribution as well — consult the 3VA device manual for DC-specific switching limits.
