What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens 3VA1110-6GE46-0AA0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for 100 A continuous current with a 4-pole configuration. Its TM220 thermal-magnetic release handles overload and short-circuit protection in one device, adjustable up to 1 000 A for instantaneous trip. The interrupting ratings step down with voltage: 220 kA at 240 V, 154 kA at 415 V, 121 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 500 V or 690 V — so the 240 V figure is the headline for high-fault panels, but at 480/500 V systems the 17 kA SCCR governs the coordination study. The 70 mm depth and 101.6 mm width mean it fits standard SENTRON panel footprints without gland-plate surprises. IP40 on the front is typical for enclosed distribution boards — not for washdown environments, but fine inside a clean switchroom.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
Continuous current holds at 100 A up to 50 °C ambient, then derates to 98 A at 55 °C, 96 A at 60 °C, 94 A at 65 °C, and 91 A at 70 °C. If the panel runs hot — near a furnace line or in a sealed enclosure — the 91 A floor at 70 °C is the real limit for sizing the downstream load. Operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage spans -40 °C to 80 °C.
Panel integration notes
Mounts on a DIN rail or direct-panel screw pattern typical of SENTRON 3VA frames. The 100 % N-conductor protection design means the neutral pole is rated for full phase current — no derating needed on the neutral path. Optional motor drive for remote switching is available as a field-addable accessory.
