Circuit breaker for motor starter protection
The Siemens 3VA1110-6MH32-0AD0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 160 circuit breaker with a breaking capacity class H rating of 70 kA at 415 V. It is configured for starter protection with a TM120M thermal-magnetic release, set at In = 100 A, and provides short-circuit protection only — no overload protection function is active in this variant. The adjustable instantaneous trip range is 5 to 15 times In.
The TM120M release is sized for motor starting duty — the thermal element tracks motor heating, while the magnetic element handles short-circuits. Because overload protection is omitted, this breaker must be paired with a separate overload relay in the motor starter assembly; it is not a standalone motor-protective device.
The 3-pole configuration and frame 160 footprint match standard Siemens 3VA1 panel layouts, simplifying replacement in existing switchgear.
