Product identity and key ratings
The Siemens 3VA1110-6MH32-0JC0 is a 3VA1 series moulded-case circuit breaker on an IEC frame 160, rated 100 A continuous current (In) with a breaking capacity class H of Icu=70 kA at 415 V AC, 3-pole. The TM120M thermal-magnetic release provides starter protection; the adjustable short-circuit release (Ii) is set 5–15 × In. The unit ships with a shunt trip (STL) rated 110–127 V DC and AC 50/60 Hz, plus two HQ auxiliary switches and a nut keeper kit.
What the ratings mean for fit
The Icu=70 kA @ 415 V is the ultimate short-circuit breaking capacity — the breaker can safely interrupt a fault up to that level once and remain functional. For a 100 A feeder in a 415 V industrial panel, this provides substantial fault-current headroom, suitable for high-capacity distribution or motor control centres where available fault current is high. The adjustable Ii (5–15 × In) allows coordination with downstream motor starters: set at 5× for general distribution or 15× for high-inrush loads like large motors. The shunt trip (STL) operates on 110–127 V DC or AC 50/60 Hz, enabling remote tripping from an emergency stop circuit or a safety PLC output. The two HQ auxiliary switches provide status feedback (open/closed) to a control system or indication panel.
Deployment context
The 3VA1 frame mounts in standard switchboard or panelboard enclosures; the nut keeper kit simplifies panel-builder installation by retaining the mounting hardware during assembly. The shunt trip and auxiliary switches are factory-installed, reducing field wiring time.
