Line protection MCCB with TM240 thermal-magnetic release
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1112-3EF36-0JA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection — meaning it sits upstream of a load feeder, not as a motor-protective device. Its 125 A rated continuous current (Iu) holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C, then derates to 112.5 A at 70 °C; if the panel ambient runs hot, that 70 °C figure is the one that governs the real load you can pass through it. Interrupting capacity steps with system voltage: 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 10.5 kA at 690 V. For a 480 V distribution panel (common in North American industrial), the 440 V figure is the closest proxy — 32 kA SCCR headroom covers most transformer-fed secondary buses. The TM240 thermal-magnetic release provides fixed short-circuit and overload protection; no communication, no ground-fault module, no auxiliary contacts on this variant.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions: 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep. The 76.2 mm width (3-inch face) is standard for a 3-pole MCCB in a distribution panel — fits existing DIN-rail or screw-mount busbar systems without re-spacing. IP40 on the front means it is protected against solid objects over 1 mm but not sealed against moisture; keep it inside a rated enclosure.
Shunt trip and auxiliary release
Fitted with a shunt trip (STL) release for remote tripping — order code 3VA9688-0BL32 is the integrated auxiliary trip module. No undervoltage release, no auxiliary contact block on this build. If the BOM calls for remote undervoltage protection or status feedback, the base breaker won't deliver it without adding the separate module.
