MCCB for high-fault panels
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1112-4EF46-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 125 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM240 thermal-magnetic release. Its interrupting capacity hits 121 kA at 240 V and 76 kA at 415 V — enough to handle high-fault industrial panels where upstream transformers or large drives push available fault current into the tens of kA. The 70 mm depth and 101.6 mm width fit standard MCCB panel cutouts without extra gland-plate work.
Interrupting ratings across voltage levels
The breaker carries symmetrical interrupting ratings of 121 kA at 240 V, 76 kA at 415 V, 53 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at 500 V and 690 V. At 240 V the 121 kA rating means it can clear a full bolted fault from a large step-down transformer without cascading upstream — critical for main breaker or high-fault subfeed applications. The 11.9 kA at 690 V still covers most motor-drive bus faults in 690 V industrial networks.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
Continuous current holds at 125 A from 40 °C up to 50 °C, then derates to 122 A at 55 °C, 120 A at 60 °C, 117 A at 65 °C, and 114 A at 70 °C. Operating ambient range is -25 °C to 70 °C, with storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. In a hot mill or foundry panel where ambient near the breaker hits 55 °C, you still get 122 A — only a 2.4% drop from the 40 °C rating.
Panel fit and mounting
Dimensions: 130 mm height, 101.6 mm width, 70 mm depth. Front face is IP40 rated — splash protection on the front, but the breaker lives inside a closed panel or enclosure. No communication module on board; motor drive is available as an optional extension.
