125 A, 4-pole MCCB with TM220 release — active, in current production
The 3VA1112-6GE42-0AA0: The interrupting capacity is voltage-dependent: 220 kA at 240 V, 154 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. At 240 V the 220 kA figure covers most utility-side fault levels without requiring a current-limiting upstream device. Thermal derating is minimal through 50 °C (full 125 A), then drops to 122 A at 55 °C, 120 A at 60 °C, 117 A at 65 °C, and 114 A at 70 °C. In a sealed, uncooled enclosure at 55 °C ambient, the usable current is 122 A — a 2.4 % reduction that rarely forces a frame upsizing.
Panel fit and integration
Footprint is 101.6 mm wide by 130 mm tall by 70 mm deep — a 4-inch wide body that fits standard MCCB panel cutouts. The 4-pole width matches the common 4-inch module spacing for three-phase-plus-neutral distribution. Rated insulation voltage Ui is 800 V, with a maximum operational voltage of 600 V DC. The front-face protection class is IP40 — suitable for enclosed panel mounting, not for washdown or outdoor exposure without a secondary enclosure. Maximum power loss is 28.1 W at rated current. In a multi-breaker panel, that heat must be factored into the enclosure's thermal budget — a 10-breaker lineup adds roughly 280 W of internal dissipation.
Lifecycle and compliance
The part carries a TM220 overcurrent release (thermal-magnetic, fixed thermal and magnetic trip settings) and is designed for line protection (not motor or generator protection). It supports an optional motor drive for remote operation. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to +80 °C. The 100 % N-conductor protection design means the neutral pole is fully rated, not reduced — critical for four-wire distribution where neutral loading is continuous.
