Overload and short-circuit protection settings
The TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit provides overload protection adjustable from 88 A to 125 A (Ir), with short-circuit protection (Ii) set at 5 to 10 times In. For a 125 A continuous load, set Ir at 125 A; the Ii multiplier determines the magnetic pickup — 5x (625 A) for motor starting inrush, 10x (1250 A) for transformer or capacitive loads. The 100% N-conductor protection means the neutral pole is fully rated, not reduced, which matters for circuits with harmonic content or unbalanced loads where neutral current approaches phase current.
