What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3VA1116-1AA32-0KA0 is a SENTRON 3VA1 switch disconnector in an MCCB-style housing, rated for 160 A continuous at 40 °C through 50 °C, derating to 150 A at 70 °C. It is a 3-pole, non-fused disconnect — no overload or short-circuit protection built in, so it serves as a manual load-break switch or isolator in a distribution panel. The shunt trip release (STL) operates on 220-250 V DC or 208-277 V AC, letting you remotely trip the disconnect via a control signal — useful for emergency-stop chains or remote load shedding. No undervoltage release or auxiliary contacts are fitted on this variant.
Panel fit and wiring
Dimensions are 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall — a standard 3-pole MCCB footprint that drops into SENTRON 3VA1 panelboards and distribution blocks. Main circuit connection is via busbar on front terminals; the supplied nut keeper kit simplifies torqueing on the busbar stack. Front-face protection is IP40 — fine for enclosed panel mounting; keep it behind a door or cover in washdown areas. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, operating voltage up to 690 V AC or 500 V DC.
