The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1116-1AA42-0AA0 is a 4-pole switch disconnector in MCCB-style construction, rated 160 A continuous at 40 °C and carrying a 690 V AC / 600 V DC operating voltage. It is designed for busbar connection via front terminals, with an insulation voltage of 800 V. This is a pure disconnecting switch — no overload or short-circuit protection, no trip indicator, no undervoltage release, and no auxiliary contacts built in. That makes it a straightforward, high-current isolation point for a panel feeder or a machine supply, sized for the 160 A frame.
Thermal derating and real-world capacity
The 160 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C — common for a well-ventilated panel interior. Above that it derates gradually: 158 A at 55 °C, 155 A at 60 °C, 153 A at 65 °C, and 150 A at 70 °C. If your enclosure runs hot near the top of the ambient range, you lose 10 A off the headline number. That 150 A at 70 °C is still a solid disconnect rating for a 150 A feeder or a 110 kW motor at 400 V (roughly 200 FLA), but the thermal curve matters for a tight busway tap.
Physical fit and panel integration
Dimensions: 130 mm high, 101.6 mm wide, 70 mm deep. The front-terminal busbar connection simplifies mounting against a backplate.
