What this MCCB delivers
The Siemens 3VA1116-3ED26-0AA0 is a 2-pole SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated for line protection. It carries 160 A continuously at 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 158 A at 55 °C, 155 A at 60 °C, 153 A at 65 °C, and 150 A at 70 °C — so in a warm panel you lose only about 6 % of the current rating at the top of the operating range. The interrupting capacity hits 75.6 kA at 240 V AC and 52.5 kA at 415 V AC, which gives solid headroom for most industrial distribution boards with high fault current.
Thermal-magnetic release and coordination
The overcurrent release is a TM210 (thermal-magnetic, fixed settings) with LI protection — long-time and instantaneous. No trip indicator, no undervoltage release, no communication module. It's a straight line-protection breaker: no ground-fault monitoring, no motor drive. The rated insulation voltage is 500 V, and the maximum operating voltage is 415 V AC or 250 V DC. Power loss at full load is 25.34 W — plan for that in a sealed enclosure.
Mounting and environment
Dimensions are 130 mm high, 50.8 mm wide, 70 mm deep. Front protection is IP40 — fine for a dry indoor panel, but not washdown. Storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C; operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C. Mounts on a DIN rail or direct panel; the 2-pole width (50.8 mm) is standard for a 160 A frame.
