The Siemens 3VA1116-3ED46-0HC0 is a 4-pole IEC frame 160 molded-case circuit breaker in the 3VA1 series, breaking capacity class N. It is rated 160 A continuous (In) with fixed overload protection at Ir = 160 A and fixed short-circuit pickup at Ii = 10 × In. The interrupting rating is 25 kA at 415 V AC — class N on the IEC 60947-2 scale, which covers most commercial and light industrial distribution panels where fault currents stay under that threshold.
Protection and Accessories
The TM210 trip unit is thermal-magnetic: the thermal element handles overloads (fixed at 160 A), the magnetic element handles short-circuits (fixed at 10× In). The breaker ships with a shunt trip (STL) rated 12–30 V DC or 24 V AC 50/60 Hz, plus two HQ auxiliary switches for remote status. The neutral conductor is unprotected (no integral neutral protection) — common on 4-pole breakers where the neutral is switched but not monitored. Connection is via clamp terminals, which accept copper or aluminium conductors without lugs.
