160 A, 4-Pole MCCB with TM240 Release
The Siemens 3VA1116-3FF42-0AA0 is a SENTRON 4-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 160 A continuous current (Iu) at up to 50 °C ambient, with a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release. It is configured for line protection — the standard duty for a main or feeder breaker in a distribution panel. The 75.6 kA interrupting rating at 240 V AC gives headroom for high-fault utility feeds; at 415 V it still breaks 52.5 kA, and at 690 V it holds 11.9 kA. The rated insulation voltage is 800 V, and the maximum operating voltage is 690 V AC or 600 V DC.
Thermal Derating and Power Loss
The 160 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C. Above that it derates: 158 A at 55 °C, 155 A at 60 °C, 153 A at 65 °C, and 150 A at 70 °C. Maximum power loss is 38 W. The N-conductor protection is set at 50% of the phase rating. For a panel builder, the 70 mm depth and 101.6 mm width mean it fits standard SENTRON mounting footprints; the IP40 front protection is typical for enclosed distribution boards.
