Breaking capacity and thermal derating
The 3VA1116-4ED32-0AA0: Breaking capacity drops as voltage climbs: 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. That 11.9 kA floor at 690 V is the real constraint if you're running a 690 V distribution bus — verify your available fault current at that voltage, not the 240 V headline. The TM210 release holds 160 A flat from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 150 A at 70 °C. In a hot panel — say next to a drive or transformer — use the 70 °C column, not the 40 °C rating.
Panel fit and environment
Dimensions are 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, 70 mm deep — three 18 mm pole spaces, so it fits a standard DIN-rail or panel-mount footprint without surprises. Front protection is IP40, meaning tools and fingers stay out but it's not washdown-rated. Operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 38 W — factor that into your enclosure thermal budget if it's in a sealed box with other heat sources.
