The 3VA1116-4ED36-0AA0: It carries a TM210 thermal-magnetic release — fixed thermal rating at 160 A (Ir = 160 A) and fixed short-circuit pickup at 10 × In (Ii = 1600 A). For a 415 V distribution board, that 36 kA rating gives you headroom above the typical 25 kA SCCR for most commercial-industrial panels — useful if the transformer size or upstream fault current is on the high side.
Thermal derating — 160 A continuous is not the whole story
If your panel internal ambient runs at 60 °C — common in a sealed NEMA 12 enclosure with multiple breakers — you lose 5 A of headroom. That 76.2 mm (3-inch) width per pole is standard for a 160 A frame — it occupies three 18 mm DIN positions if using adapters, but typically this breaker bolts directly to the mounting plate rather than snapping onto DIN rail. The clamp connection terminals accept copper conductors without lug kits for most panel feed sizes.
