What this MCCB delivers on the line
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1116-4EF36-0CH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for line protection, carrying 160 A continuously at 40 °C ambient. That 160 A holds flat through 50 °C, then derates to 150 A at 70 °C — useful when the breaker sits in a warm panel near other heat sources. Breaking capacity reaches 121 kA at 240 VAC, dropping to 75.6 kA at 415 V and 52.5 kA at 440 V, which covers most industrial distribution panels without needing a current-limiting upstream device. The breaker ships with an undervoltage release (UVR) integrated and a 2-auxiliary-switch plus 1-trip-alarm-switch HQ configuration, so it can signal its status back to a PLC or safety relay without adding external interposing relays. No communication module is fitted — this is a standalone line-protection device, not a networked power manager.
Panel fit and mounting
The 3VA1116-4EF36-0CH0 measures 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, and 70 mm deep. That 70 mm depth is shallow enough for most 200 mm deep enclosures; the 3-inch width fits standard MCCB mounting footprints. A trip indicator is present, so a quick visual scan of the panel face tells you which breaker cleared the fault.
