It is designed for line protection in distribution panels and motor branch circuits where high interrupting capacity is needed — 187 kA at 240 V AC, 121 kA at 415 V, and 76 kA at 440 V. The IP40 front protection means it is suited for installation inside a panel enclosure where splash or tool contact is not expected on the front face.
The 160 A rating holds across ambient temperatures from 40 °C to 50 °C without derating — at 55 °C it still carries 158 A, and at 70 °C it is 150 A. The interrupting ratings at different voltages tell you the fault-clearing capability: at 240 V it handles 187 kA, enough for high-fault utility feeds; at 690 V it still clears 17 kA.
Integration notes
The auxiliary contact version (2 HQ switches) and the UVR are wired separately; the UVR coil must see rated voltage to allow closing.
