Continuous rating and thermal performance
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1116-5EF32-0AG0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 160 A continuous current at 40 °C, and it holds that full 160 A rating all the way up to 50 °C ambient. Above that, the rating steps down in a controlled derate curve: 158 A at 55 °C, 155 A at 60 °C, 153 A at 65 °C, and 150 A at 70 °C. That means in a warm panel — say, a packed enclosure near a process line — you still have 150 A of headroom at the upper end of the operating range.
Breaking capacity across system voltages
This MCCB carries a 187 kA interrupting rating at 240 V AC, dropping to 121 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. At 690 V the 17 kA rating still covers most industrial motor-control-center (MCC) applications.
Overcurrent release and auxiliary switching
The breaker ships with one auxiliary switch and one trip-alarm switch (HP design) factory-installed, so you get remote status and fault indication without an extra wiring pass. A mechanical trip indicator on the front face gives local visual confirmation of a trip event.
Electrical and environmental limits
The 76.2 mm width (3 inches) matches the standard SENTRON 3-pole MCCB footprint — it drops into the same panel cutout and bus connection pattern as other 3VA1 frame-size breakers.
