Siemens SENTRON 3VA1116-5EF36-0AG0 — 160 A MCCB, Line Protection
This is a fixed-release breaker; you spec it for the load, not tune it on the bench. Breaking capacity is the headline here: 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, and 17 kA at 690 V. At 415 V the 121 kA still covers most industrial service-entrance and distribution panel applications. The 690 V figure (17 kA) is lower but typical for a 160 A frame at that voltage; if your system runs 690 V with higher available fault current, you step up to a larger frame or a current-limiting breaker.
Above that it derates: 153.6 A at 55 °C, 150.4 A at 60 °C, 147.2 A at 65 °C, and 144 A at 70 °C.
Auxiliary Contacts and Release Options
That gives you a remote status contact for the breaker position and a separate contact that changes state only when the breaker trips on fault — useful for a PLC alarm input or a shunt-trip monitoring circuit. If you need those, you are looking at a different suffix on the 3VA1116 order code.
