The Siemens 3VA1116-5EF36-0CH0 is a 3-pole IEC frame 160 molded-case circuit breaker rated for line protection with a TM240 thermal-magnetic trip unit. Its headline breaking capacity is 55 kA at 415 V AC (class M), which means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without upstream cascading — sized for main or large feeder duty in a 400 V industrial panel.
Trip settings and accessories
Overload protection (Ir) is adjustable from 112 A to 160 A via the ATAM dial; short-circuit protection (Ii) is fixed at 5 to 10 times In, so a 160 A breaker trips magnetically between 800 A and 1600 A. The built-in undervoltage release (UVR) operates on 120–127 V AC, 50/60 Hz — common for North American control voltages stepped down from a 480 V panel. Two auxiliary switches (HQ) and one trip alarm switch (HQ) are factory-fitted, giving remote status of the breaker position and fault trip.
