What this MCCB delivers for the panel
The Siemens 3VA1116-6EE32-0AB0 is a SENTRON molded case circuit breaker rated 160 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM220 thermal-magnetic release and 3-pole construction. Its interrupting capacity reaches 220 kA at 240 V, 154 kA at 415 V, and 75.6 kA at 440 V — figures that cover most industrial service-entrance and feeder applications where high fault current is expected. The 800 V rated insulation voltage means it is suited for 480 V and 600 V class systems with adequate margin.
Thermal-magnetic curve and derating
The TM220 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic overcurrent trip. At 40 °C the breaker carries 160 A; at 55 °C it derates to 158 A, and at 70 °C to 150 A (–). The thermal element tracks ambient temperature, so in a warm enclosure the continuous current must be de-rated accordingly. Max power loss is 38 W — a figure to account for in enclosure heat calculations.
DIN-rail footprint and panel fit
Dimensions are 70 mm deep, 76.2 mm wide, and 130 mm high (–). The 76.2 mm width matches the standard 3-pole MCCB footprint on DIN rail. No undervoltage release, no ground-fault module, and no communication function are built in — it is a straight line-protection breaker. Two auxiliary switches HP are included for status feedback to a PLC or annunciator.
