MCCB for high-fault panels — 160 A frame, 4-pole, TM220
The Siemens 3VA1116-6EE42-0AA0 is a SENTRON 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for 160 A continuous at 40 °C, with a TM220 thermal-magnetic release — meaning the thermal pickup and magnetic trip are fixed, not adjustable. It's built for line protection in distribution panels where you need a high interrupting capacity: 220 kA at 240 V AC, 154 kA at 415 V, 75.6 kA at 440 V, and still 17 kA at 500 V and 690 V. That covers most industrial low-voltage bus faults without cascading upstream.
Thermal derating and ambient limits
The 160 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C. At 55 °C it's 158 A, at 60 °C it's 155 A, at 65 °C it's 153 A, and at 70 °C it's 150 A. If your panel ambient runs above 50 °C, you still get 150 A at the top end — useful for a crowded enclosure near a press or oven. Operating range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage from -40 °C to 80 °C. Maximum power loss is 38 W.
Mounting and integration
Front IP40 protection suits panel-mount installations where the breaker face is exposed. Dimensions: 130 mm height, 101.6 mm width, 70 mm depth — fits standard MCCB panel cutouts. No undervoltage release, no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring; this is a straight thermal-magnetic line-protection breaker.
