What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1116-6EF36-0DC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 160 A continuous at 40 °C, holding that rating through 50 °C before a gradual derate to 150 A at 70 °C. Breaking capacity hits 220 kA at 240 V AC and 154 kA at 415 V — enough for high-fault utility feeds or transformer secondaries where SCCR headroom is tight. At 440 V it still interrupts 75.6 kA; above that, 17 kA at 500 V and 690 V. This is a line-protection design (no ground-fault monitoring, no communication function) with an undervoltage release fitted from the factory and two HQ auxiliary switches built in. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V.
Panel fit and thermal budget
Footprint is 76.2 mm wide by 130 mm tall by 70 mm deep — three standard 25 mm module widths on a DIN rail. Max power loss is 40.5 W, so account for that heat inside the enclosure when stacking breakers side-by-side; the derating curve above 50 °C already assumes free air convection, so forced ventilation or wider spacing may be needed if ambient in the panel runs hot.
