It's built for line protection — the workhorse of a distribution panel or motor branch circuit where you need adjustable overload and fixed instantaneous short-circuit response. At 240 V AC it can interrupt 75.6 kA, which gives solid SCCR headroom for most industrial service entrances or sub-feeders. The interrupting rating drops to 52.5 kA at 415 V and 32 kA at 440 V, so check your available fault current before specifying — that 75.6 kA number only holds at the lower voltage.
Sizing and thermal performance
At 60 °C and 65 °C it still carries 19 A, and at 70 °C it stays at 19 A. That's a wide thermal plateau; you won't lose capacity unless your enclosure runs hotter than 55 °C regularly. Maximum power loss is 12 W. For a 20 A MCCB that's reasonable — it won't cook adjacent devices in a crowded panel, but don't stack it tight against heat-sensitive electronics without a little air gap.
Footprint is 76.2 mm wide, 130 mm tall, 70 mm deep — standard for a SENTRON 3VA frame. It's a plain line-protection MCCB — if you need shunt trip or remote status, you're looking at a different order code in the 3VA family.
