What this MCCB carries
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1120-3EF32-0JH0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a 20 A continuous rating across the 40 °C to 55 °C band, derating to 19 A at 60 °C and above — a thermal curve that suits lightly loaded feeders in ventilated enclosures. Its interrupting capacity reaches 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, and 32 kA at 440 V, with 11.9 kA holding at both 500 V and 690 V. That SCCR range covers most industrial service-entrance and sub-feed applications; the 690 V rating is useful for 600 V class Canadian or mining panels.
Integrated accessories for control wiring
Factory-fitted with a shunt trip (STL) and a complement of 2 auxiliary switches plus 1 trip alarm switch (HQ configuration). This avoids separate accessory mounting and wiring in the panel — the shunt trip allows remote tripping from an E-stop or PLC output, while the alarm switch signals a fault condition back to the control system. No undervoltage release is fitted, so the breaker holds in without a separate coil-monitoring circuit. The 12 W maximum power loss is the total dissipation at rated load; factor it into enclosure thermal calculations if the panel is tightly packed.
Compliance and documentation
The SENTRON 3VA series carries IEC/EN 60947-2 certification for molded case circuit breakers. Rated insulation voltage is 800 V, which covers 690 V systems with margin. The manufacturer provides CE, UKCA, and EAC declarations, plus RoHS and REACH compliance statements with the product documentation package. No integrated communication function — this is a standalone thermal-magnetic breaker, not a power-metering or networked device.
