MCCB for panel builders — 20 A, 3-pole, TM210 release
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1120-4ED36-0AA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 20 A continuous current across the 40 °C to 55 °C ambient range, derating to 19 A at 60–70 °C. It carries a TM210 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release — the thermal element handles overloads, the magnetic element clears short-circuits — and is designed for line protection in distribution panels. Breaking capacity is 121 kA at 240 VAC, 75.6 kA at 415 VAC, 52.5 kA at 440 VAC, and 11.9 kA at both 500 VAC and 690 VAC. That 121 kA figure at 240 V means it can safely interrupt a fault current up to that level without welding contacts or cascading upstream — critical for high-fault panels near large transformers. Insulation voltage is rated 800 V, and the front face carries IP40 protection — suitable for enclosed panel mounting where the breaker is behind a door. The 70 mm depth, 76.2 mm width, and 130 mm height fit standard SENTRON 3VA panel cutouts and busbar arrangements.
Sourcing and lifecycle — active, quoted to order
Maximum power loss is 12 W, which factors into panel thermal budgeting when grouping multiple breakers in a confined enclosure.
Panel integration notes
Mounts on a DIN rail or directly to a mounting plate via the standard 3VA footprint. The 3-pole design connects to three-phase busbars; line and load lugs accept copper or aluminum conductors per the terminal specifications in the device manual. No undervoltage release, no communication module, no ground-fault monitoring on this variant — it is a straight thermal-magnetic breaker for basic line protection. If you need shunt trip, UVR, or auxiliary contacts, those are add-on accessories in the 3VA family.
