SENTRON 3VA1120-4GE46-0AA0 — 4-pole MCCB, 20 A, line protection
Rated 20 A continuous (Iu) with a TM220 thermal-magnetic release, it carries the full 20 A up to 55 °C ambient, then derates to 19 A at 60–70 °C — a useful margin for warm enclosures or high-density panel layouts. Breaking capacity is voltage-dependent: 121 kA at 240 V AC, 75.6 kA at 415 V, 52.5 kA at 440 V, and 11.9 kA at both 500 V and 690 V. At 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) and 600 V max DC operational voltage, it covers most low-voltage switchgear applications.
Trip unit and adjustability
The TM220 release is a fixed thermal-magnetic type with an adjustable instantaneous magnetic trip — the li max setting goes up to 320 A, letting you dial in short-circuit protection to coordinate with downstream devices. No electronic adjustment or communication function on this variant; it's a straightforward replacement for existing thermal-magnetic MCCB slots. Power loss is 12 W maximum at rated load, which is modest for a 4-pole 20 A frame — panel heat buildup is manageable even in sealed enclosures.
Integration and mounting
Dimensions are 101.6 mm wide, 130 mm tall, 70 mm deep — a standard 4-pole MCCB footprint that fits most DIN-rail or panel-mount distribution boards. IP40 on the front face protects against tool entry; the rest of the body is open for heat dissipation inside the enclosure. Optional motor drive (product extension) allows remote trip or reset for automated restart sequences. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +70 °C; storage from -40 °C to +80 °C covers most plant-floor and warehouse conditions.
