MCCB for high-fault panel builds
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1125-5ED46-0AA0 is a 4-pole molded case circuit breaker rated 25 A continuous with a TM210 thermal-magnetic release, sized for line-protection duty in distribution panels. Its interrupting capacity hits 187 kA at 240 VAC and 121 kA at 415 VAC — figures that cover high-fault utility feeds without cascading upstream. At 440 V it still holds 75.6 kA, dropping to 17 kA at 500 V and 690 V. The 800 V rated insulation voltage (Ui) supports 480/600 V class installations with margin. Four poles let it switch three-phase plus neutral in a single envelope, saving a DIN row over separate breakers.
Thermal derating and panel fit
The 25 A rating holds flat from 40 °C to 50 °C; above that it derates to 24 A at 55 °C and 60 °C, then 23 A at 65 °C and 70 °C. A panel OEM wiring a 24 A continuous load at 60 °C ambient needs to account for that step-down. The breaker dissipates 8.5 W maximum — negligible for thermal budgeting in a standard enclosure, but worth noting if multiple units crowd a small gland plate. Front IP40 protects against tool drops and dust ingress; the body is open-frame behind the panel, so clearance to live parts follows local wiring rules.
