MCCB for line protection with high interrupting capacity
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1125-5EF36-0BA0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) rated for 25 A at 40 °C, designed for line protection in distribution panels. It carries a TM240 thermal-magnetic overcurrent release — the thermal element handles overloads, the magnetic element clears short-circuits. The interrupting capacity reaches 187 kA at 240 V, 121 kA at 415 V, and 75.6 kA at 440 V, dropping to 17 kA at 500 V and 690 V — so for 400 V class systems this breaker has substantial headroom above typical available fault current. Insulation voltage is rated 800 V.
Built-in undervoltage release; no communication or ground-fault monitoring
This variant includes an undervoltage release (UVR) as the auxiliary release — it trips the breaker if supply voltage drops below a threshold, useful for preventing motor re-acceleration after a dip. There is no ground-fault monitoring module and no communication function; it is a standalone thermal-magnetic MCCB. The power loss at rated load is 11 W maximum.
Dimensions and environmental range
The breaker measures 130 mm high, 76.2 mm wide, and 70 mm deep — a compact 3-pole footprint for DIN-rail or panel-mount enclosures. Operating temperature range is -25 °C to 70 °C; storage range is -40 °C to 80 °C.
Current rating holds steady to 50 °C, then derates
The 25 A rating is continuous at ambient temperatures up to 50 °C. At 55 °C and 60 °C it derates to 24 A; at 65 °C and 70 °C it derates to 23 A. No trip indicator is fitted.
