Breaking capacity and what it means for panel coordination
The 3VA1125-6EE36-0AA0: This MCCB delivers 220 kA at 240 V AC, 154 kA at 415 V, and 121 kA at 440 V. Those figures drop to 17 kA at 500 V and 690 V. For a 480 V panel feed, the 154 kA at 415 V is the relevant reference — it tells you the breaker can interrupt fault currents at that level without upstream devices needing to clear first. That's selectivity headroom for the main distribution board. The 25 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C, then derates to 24 A at 55–60 °C and 23 A at 65–70 °C. If the panel ambient runs hot (say, next to a drive cabinet), size the continuous load at 23 A, not 25 A.
Panel fit and mounting
Footprint: 130 mm tall, 76.2 mm wide, 70 mm deep. The 3-pole body fits standard Siemens 3VA mounting feet — no adapter plate needed. IP40 on the front means it's protected against tools and wires >1 mm, but not against dripping water; keep it inside the enclosure, not on a washdown wall.
