What this MCCB carries and where it fits
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1132-3EF32-0DC0 is a 3-pole molded case circuit breaker rated for a continuous current of 32 A at 40 °C, with a thermal-magnetic TM240 overcurrent release. It is configured for line protection — meaning it sits at the feeder or distribution point in a panel, not as a motor-protective device. The rated insulation voltage Ui is 800 V, and the interrupting capacity reaches 75.6 kA at 240 V, 52.5 kA at 415 V, 32 kA at 440 V, and 10.5 kA at 690 V. Those numbers govern selectivity coordination: at 415 V, this breaker safely clears a 52.5 kA fault without cascading upstream, which is the figure a panel designer checks against the available fault current at the distribution board. The frame width is 76.2 mm, depth 70 mm, height 130 mm — a standard SENTRON 3VA fixed-mount footprint that drops into a DIN-rail or screw-mounted panel assembly. IP40 on the front means it is protected against tools and wires larger than 1 mm entering the enclosure face; the rest of the breaker relies on the panel enclosure for environmental sealing.
Auxiliary and undervoltage release configuration
This breaker ships with an integrated undervoltage release (UVR) and two HQ auxiliary switches. The UVR trips the breaker when control voltage drops below a set threshold — a standard requirement for emergency-stop circuits and safety disconnects per IEC 60204-1. The auxiliary switches (order code 3VA9608-0BB25 for the integrated release) provide status feedback to a PLC or indication lamp. No communication module or ground-fault monitoring is fitted to this variant; those are available as separate add-on accessories in the 3VA platform.
Thermal derating across ambient temperature
The 32 A rating holds flat from 40 °C through 50 °C. Above that, derating begins: 30.72 A at 55 °C, 30.08 A at 60 °C, 29.44 A at 65 °C, and 28.8 A at 70 °C. If the panel internal ambient runs at 60 °C — common in a packed enclosure with multiple breakers — the effective continuous current drops to 30.08 A. That is the number to use for the load calculation, not the und derated 32 A. The storage temperature range is -40 °C to 80 °C; operating ambient spans -25 °C to 70 °C.
