What it is and what it does
The Siemens SENTRON 3VA1132-4ED22-0KA0 is a 2-pole molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) sized for line protection in distribution panels. Rated 32 A continuously at 40 °C ambient and delivering 121 kA interrupting capacity at 240 V — that is a serious short-circuit rating for a 32 A frame, meaning it clears high-fault events without welding contacts or cascading upstream. The TM210 overcurrent release handles thermal-magnetic trip for overload and short-circuit. A built-in shunt trip (STL) allows remote opening via a control signal — useful for emergency-stop or supervisory shutdown circuits.
Ratings and ambient derating
Rated current holds at 32 A from 40 °C through 50 °C, then steps down: 31 A at 55 °C, 30 A at 70 °C. That is a gentle derating curve — the breaker stays near its nameplate rating even in a warm enclosure. At 415 V the breaking capacity is 75.6 kA, still well above typical industrial service-entrance levels. Insulation voltage rated 500 V. IP40 on the front face keeps dust out of the mechanism inside a panel.
Integration and mounting
Dimensions: 70 mm deep, 50.8 mm wide, 130 mm tall. The 50.8 mm (2 in) width fits common DIN-rail or panel-mount bases.
